Did a thing

Last night I felt a sudden urge to return to a once-loved activity. Watching gameplay videos (The Evil Within 2) while doing random stuff. I copied tilemaps from Pokémon Gold/Silver using Aseprite. Do I have any plans with this? No, not at all. I don't want to disappoint myself, so I let myself do things as long as it's fun.

However, the way I have come to do it is quite interesting. In the evening, my boyfriend told me that he likes to replay a 4th Gen Pokémon game after he finishes his exams. He knows that I have Platinum/HG/SS in my collection. I was intrigued and thought it would be nice to play it again. I took care of my old Cosmic Blue 3DS (I love that thing) and the game, but then I realised that the battery was low. No problem, let's get the cable then, but there is no cable. I fear it may have disappeared in the move. At first I was sad because I really liked the idea.

I haven't played any games from the 8th Gen on. However, I do like some Pokémon, with Galarian Slowking being one of my favourites. Also, this new trend of games that do not have the full set of all existing Pokémon to discover makes me sad. Why not make my own Pokémon game? I know a bit of programming, and although my artistic skills are less than great, I can still recreate the GBC art style. My history of started and never finished projects is almost endless, and there are many dreams that will most likely remain dreams.

Friends and family are sceptical about this kind of behaviour. It used to discourage me from trying new things because I would have to tell people that I had abandoned them. Now I'm not ashamed because I know there are other people like me. This is thanks to a book I found. The author, Barbara Sher, calls such people "scanners". Maybe you're one too!
